Shanghai Again
Jun 20th, 2006 by Yue
Well - I am back in China again for a couple of weeks. Normally I fly from Denver to San Francisco and then on to Shanghai. To save money, this time I booked a flight from Denver to San Francisco to Toyko to Shanghai.
However, my flight from Denver was delayed and I missed my flight to Tokyo by 3 minutes. For some reason United didn’t hold the plane, although there were ten of use transferring from the Denver flight to the Tokyo flight.
The good news is they redirected us to another flight - nonstop to Shanghai! And in business class. So I got to Shanghai in style. But my luggage - well that’s still in San Francisco. Sigh. Its waiting until the next flight tomorrow to go to Tokyo.
Tomorrow is Sunday, I have a business meeting with my customer in the morning, which is very common in China. The business people in China seems never stop working. So I have to go out and buy some clothes in the morning.
The joys of travel.
Hi, I came across your blog while browsing through Technorati. I just wanted to say that I’ve had the same experience with United not holding connecting flights even when there’s a good-sized group of transferring passengers. That part isn’t any fun, but if they upgrade you on the next flight, it’s definitely worth it!
