Seoul Korea

I spent two days in Seoul, Korea, which is a short 2 hour flight from Shanghai. It’s my second time in Seoul, the last time I visited was almost four years ago when I was working for GE. Most of my time was spent meeting customers and partners.
Seoul, similar to Shanghai, is split by a river (Hang River). The older part of the city lies north of the river while newer part lies to the south. I stayed at the Beluga Hotel, located next to the river on the south side of Seoul. Right across the river is a huge shopping complex called Lotte World, complete with both indoor and outdoor amusement parks.
I think Korean women love shopping more than any other women in the world. The Lotte department store has 10 floors, 7 catering to women. In addition, the nearest parking spots are reservered for women only. Sorry guys - its quite a hike from your assigned parking lot.
I did a quick walk through of the Lotte department store, but with the dollar so weak, everything was much more expensive when compared to the US.
Last, with the World Cup only a couple weeks away you can feel the excitement building in the city. Korea did remarkably well at the last World Cup (hosted in Korean and Japan). It will be quite amazing if the team can repeat its run of four years ago.
