Mike and his aunt Christine visited Ukraine last winter. The picture below was taken at the grave of Charlie’s and Mike’s great grandparents (Mychayalo Vlasenko and Elena Vlasenko) in Zariche, Ukraine.

Here is a heck of a thing: The grey area in front of the grave is 1/3 of Charlie’s great aunt Katya’s ashes - brought from the United Stated by Michael in coffee can. You may wonder where the rest of Tetya Katya may currently reside. Don’t worry – she’s taken care of… a second third is in Lviv, Ukraine at the cemetery of her husband’s family, the Kovshevych family. And the final third is in Hunter New York with her husband Bohdan Kovshevych. Charlie’s family has a summer house there, where lots of émigré Ukrainians summer.
